Did any of you live in Great Falls in the late 1970's and early 80's, and listen to KQDI radio during morning drive-time?If you did, you may remember THE SECRET SOUND.
This was a competition where DJ's Mike Dalton and Wendy Carpenter played the same sound every day, over the radio, until a selected caller guessed what it was. Each day there was an incorrect guess, the money pot grew!
I can remember one competition went on for months. I think the sound ended up being a a garage door crushing a tin can, or something like that.
Well, the Scoop would like to bring this game back, but in the form of a picture. And without the money pot. :-(
Let me know if you can guess what this is a picture of. Of course, this picture is just a segment of a picture of a larger object. The winner has to be specific. You can submit guesses via post or e-mail.
The champion gets the prestige of knowing they beat the Scoop.
It took less than an hour to get a correct response. Somewhere, Mike Dalton and Wendy Carpenter are shaking their heads.

No, but a good guess Shane. A laptop has some of the same markings as the mystery item.
Well THAT's a lot of help there Scoop. What about a handle on a cannister vacumn?

It is not a fancy, high-end, stainless steel BBQ spatula.

Fun game Scoop. It looked similar to the handle on our Kenmore cannister vacumn but after I thought about it a while I screamed "razor!" because I used to have that very one. After I settled down the dog from barking and Rachel yelling I thought it might be worth another shot.
Scoop, great idea, I can't wait till the next one.

Word on the street is that Mike Dalton is a massage therapist in Honolulu.
And, I stand corrected. Wendy Carpenter was on the radio in the afternoons and nights, not in the morning with Mike.
I'm forgotten alot since 1980. It seems like a few lifetimes ago.
Anybody remember Mike's North Dakotan joke joke books. I think he published five or six of them.
They had that sound contest in Missoula on KYLT and it ALWAYS sounded like something vulgar.
